What is Sculptra?

Sculptra® is a non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment that naturally restores volume and symmetry to the face. Its advanced skincare science reverses the effects of aging by rebuilding collagen strands with its main ingredient: poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles.

Sculptra is known for its long-lasting results, so it’s the perfect option for those who want fantastic skin without a facelift. What areas of the face does Sculptra treat?

At Re:nu 180 Medspa, we use Sculptra to treat the following areas in the facial region:

  • Temples
  • Cheeks
  • Hallows of midface
  • Jawline
These areas tend to lose definition the quickest due to collagen loss over time, often giving an older, more hollow appearance. Thankfully with the help of Sculptra, which can target several different areas of the face at once, your skin can become smoother and more volumized in a few treatments.

How does the procedure work?

At Re:nu 180 Medspa, we want you to get the most out of your results, so before your procedure, one of our talented APRNs will help you reach your desired skincare goals and assess which areas need Sculptra. The procedure typically takes around 45 minutes and involves injecting Sculptra into the dermis, the thick layer of skin. Sculptra also contains a small amount of lidocaine so that you can be comfortable and confident during your procedure.

Most clients require an average of 2-3 sessions over the course of 4 to 6 months, but treatment plans can vary depending on individual skincare needs. Once you’ve completed your Sculptra treatments, your stunning results will last about 1-2 years.

Why should you try Sculptra Treatments?

We highly recommend Sculptra to clients who suffer from volume loss because, unlike traditional liquid or gel substances, this treatment acts as a collagen stimulator, allowing the skin to restore its natural definition. Clients who receive Sculptra see significant improvement in the structure and firmness of their faces. Plus, the procedure requires minimal downtime and doesn’t require as many touch-ups as traditional fillers.

FAQ's

You can expect to see subtle results within 2-3 months of your first Sculptra treatment. Collagen takes time to rebuild naturally, so full results will develop over the course of 4 to 6 months with a proper treatment regimen.
Although Sculptra can last up to 1-2 years, you may want to consult your APRN to determine whether more frequent touch-ups are a better option.
After your Sculptra treatment, you may experience minor side effects such as light bruising, swelling, or redness around the injection site. These side effects should subside after about a week as the product incorporates into your skin’s facial tissue.
Most of our clients can return to their regular routine after their Sculptra procedure, but one of our APRNs will provide detailed post-care instructions to ensure optimal results. We recommend avoiding direct sun exposure, excessive heat or sweating, and certain skincare products for a limited time after a Sculptra treatment.

To be a good candidate for Sculptra, you must be in good health and have realistic expectations for this treatment. During your consultation, one of our APRNs will assess whether Sculptra is the right choice for you, and given that results are not immediate, ideal candidates need to be patient and consistent with additional treatments.

Sculptra penetrates deep within the skin to rebuild and repair broken collagen strands, naturally allowing the face to regain its former structure and appearance. Traditional fillers, however, fill in areas of concern and require upkeep as the chosen filler dissolves.
Yes, Sculptra can be used in addition to other injectables, but it’s best to consult with one of our APRNs before getting more than one treatment. Generally, we do not advise doing Sculptra and other fillers in the same area in one day, so we recommend waiting about 2 to 4 weeks before doing another treatment after Sculptra.
